The Virtual Directon Pad (DPAD) allows emulation of the DPAD/Trackball commonly found on Android devices.

The Motorola Cliq and Verizon Droid lack a trackball, but do have a Directional Pad (DPAD.) Unfortunately, the DPAD his hidden on these devices when the keyboard is closed.

Some devices like the HTC EVO 4G and Acer Liquid don't have a DPAD or trackball at all.

To allow full virtual keyboard support in Better Terminal Emulator Pro, a Virtual DPAD allows the user to perform actions previously done with a DPAD/Trackball directly from the touch screen.

To enable the Virtual DPAD, tap the screen when the soft keyboard is raised, or long-press the screen when the soft keyboard is not visible. The cursor will change to a >. This emulates the pressing of the trackpall or DPAD Center key. To emulate cursor movement, simple swipe the touchscreen. To enter control characters, type the desired character on the soft keyboard.
