Bluetooth Terminal Emulator]

Bluetooth Terminal Emulator is a complete VT-100/ANSI Terminal Emulator for connecting to Serial Bluetooth devices that use the SPP profile. Bluetooth Terminal Emulator leverages the powerful and intuitive terminal emulator engine used in Better Terminal Emulator Pro to provide the best terminal emulation possible for Android.

Bluetooth Terminal Emulator works with Serial Bluetooth Adapters such as the [http://www.sena.com/products/industrial_bluetooth/ Parani-SD series from SENA]. Bluetooth Terminal Emulator can be used by IT professionals to wirelessly manage equipment such as power controllers, routers, and servers from the convenience of their Android-powered device.

For a limited time, Bluetooth Terminal Emulator is being offered for a discounted price of $1.99 [http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.magicandroidapps.bluetoothterm?install in the Android Market]. This discount is being provided since Bluetooth Terminal Emulator is a brand new product, and I am looking for feedback about compatibility, features, bugs, etc. Purchasers of Bluetooth Terminal Emulator will always receive free updates with bug fixes, new features, and enhancements.

Bluetooth Terminal Emulator works with Android 2.0 and later devices, and has been tested to work on the Motorola Droid, Droid X, HTC EVO, and Google Nexus One. It should work on all other Android 2.0 and later devices as well, but please let me know if you experience difficulties.

iPerf for Android]

iPerf for Android is a free application for measuring the performance of the network interfaces on your Android device. iPerf can perform TCP and UDP network benchmarks. iPerf requires two devices: one to act as an iPerf server, and another to act as an iPerf client. iPerf for Android can operate in either server or client mode, so basic testing can be performed using two Android devices; however, this is not ideal, as the throughput will be limited by the throughput of the slower device. For best results, use an iPerf server running on a Windows, Linux, or Mac computer.

The user interface is very basic (I plan to improve this) and essentially requires that you be very familiar with iPerf command-line parameters. Leaving the command line parameters blank, and pressing “Start” will display some information about each command-line parameter.

iPerf is a fairly elaborate and complicated tool to use, but does provide very good benchmarks. If you have problems using iPerf, search around the web for some hints.

You will also need to know the IP Address of the iPerf server you are connecting with. Here are some examples:
